Backflows

Mostly used in outdoor applications the Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) is a device consisting of one independently operating spring loaded check valve and an independently operating loaded air-inlet valve located on the discharge side of the check valve. This device only protects against back-siphonage and can be used in high or low hazard applications under continuous pressure. (ASSE 1020)

Mostly used on indoor applications, The Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB) is considered the next generation of pressure vacuum breakers (PVB). It works just like the PVB but the only difference is that the inlet valve of the SVB closes before water enters through the check making it spill resistant. This device only protects against back-siphonage and can be used in high or low hazard applications under continuous pressure. (ASSE 1056)
